This paper gives an overview of algorithms for positioning a mobile phone using 3GPP-FDD mode signals. The OTDOA-IPDL mechanism is detailed, and implemented in a typical simulation scenario. The performance of the system is evaluated in different environments, showing the severe effects of multipath over the radio link.
